A date to remember

After wrestling with the fact, my stubbornness brought me down

Resisting to rest, I kept on playing, putting stress on my injured knee

And then, a "pop" sound ended my season, finally..

When I look back now

Comparing to the my current stage

I start to understand

Understand the reason why people said rejoice while you're going thru struggles

I didn't remember myself getting overly upset about the injury

You can say that I've injured myself so many times that I was already used to it

That's quite true, over a period of 2-3 months, I've been lifted off the court countless times

Till a point that I'm officially termed a "glass man"

However, the MRI result really stunned me..

At the same time, brought me to a whole new chapter of life

It's like I was refreshed!

Yeap, the injury not only made me a more cheerful person, but also a more determined one

I admit I did look back and thought about what I should and should not have done..regretful much? hmm not really tho..

Why did I feel refreshed?

It all just seems to happen at the right time

I was going through some low/soulless times before the injury

I felt so lazy towards many things

Because of the "not quite there yet" injuries (before the acl tear)

I felt like my joy of playing basketball was taken away

Even though I tried very hard to play or even just shoot the ball

I still couldn't get the joy of playing, AT ALL

I stopped going to gym, I stopped being passionate about many things

I stopped being myself, the always motivated me

For that few months, I felt so weak whenever I looked into the mirror

The only thing I held on to, is my faith

Even though I was barely there

Somehow, a special force would always come at the very last minute

Just when I was about to let go

The joy of sacrifice would always be there, whenever I chose to do something for someone

So for those months, I held on to this special force, with just a little bit of strength left in me

AND the times come..

And slowly I started to accept the fact that a tear is a tear

And after countless basketball videos and praise and worship songs sang

I finally found my motivation, the long lost one

I started going back to gym, I started waking up early and try to sleep early, again..

And gradually I felt rejuvenated, and stronger than ever

This is when things started to change, for the better

Thru church, thru basketball, thru people

My life was put into order again

Thanks to the blessings and care from the people

And new people was put into my life

Just as a dose of hope, which I've dearly missed

I am able to smile and laugh easily

I even started to cry more easily, out of joy and not sorrow

This injury has become THE topic starter

I was able to feel people's love and care thru this injury

I was able to be hopeful again

And joy was poured into my life abundantly

Basketball wise, I've never been calmer on the court
(As I still secretly play a bit, no big movements)
I started to figure a lot of things out
I become a better passer, discovered a better court vision
And a better shooter as well
All thanks to the fact that I can't run fast and jump high
I start to play with my brain more
Instead of relying on my brainless muscles every time

It has been almost 2 months now

I can't said that my life was changed radically

But definitely, my heart and spiritual life have been transformed to a whole new level

I've started to trust more

I've started to worry less

And loving people, has never been easier now

And this effect is inside-out

THANKS TO THE ACL TEAR!

It all makes sense now and things link!

I'm loving it! I can't wait for more!

As I continue to trust and live for Him!

Have you ever got a feeling that..

Time slows down when you're anxious and worried

It speeds up while you're having fun?

Tougher times are harder to endure

Obviously you don't have to put up with happiness

But often what we forgot about after coming out from that tunnel of hardship

Are those bags of memories, lessons in life

I look forward to life ahead!

And anticipating all the good things

Without dismissing the possibility of bad ones to happen

Not too late to realise that failure makes people stronger I guess :)

I used to find excuses for my failure and shortcomings

And piling up lies on a foundation made up of lies

And lies are like cement powder without water

You can poke with your little finger and they'll collapse

That's why lies are not good if you haven't figured it out!

Sometimes it takes a lot of courage to admit that you're wrong

It takes some character to be the first to say sorry

It is about loving others and not being selfish

Often when we figure it out, it's not that hard really

But I guess it takes lotsa practice to have that kinda thought in mind when challenges come

When you say sorry to yourself, you made a decision "to try and do better next time"

Even if you fail next time, I guess you'd be making progress

Of course, issues needed to be taken care of

So that is how you grow and become a person you are now

I'm still young, I can still take some hits :)

What's ahead? I dunno! But must be something good!

Approaching the end of uni life

Things are going well fortunately

The idea of trying to graduate just got stronger and stronger

And the will to execute the plan is never more determined

All thanks to the good things that happen around me all these days

And I'm pleased to have picked up the blessings put in front of me

All and all, they kept me motivated :)

CCBL came to an end 2 weeks ago

The unbeatable A-Team led by Allen did not give the crowd any element of surprise that night, they just proved once again that they are the best and their only goal is the gold.

Having said so, the match wasn't easy for them. Glory gave a fight and certainly looked like a contender, they made it hard for A-Team, and of course interesting for the crowd.

We came a long way organising this league, from the secret planning, all the way to the invitations and till this point of the year.

For sure there's lotsa space for improvements, but it wasn't easy already for us being a first timer.

I'm glad I've involved myself in this committee, I've definitely learnt lots and for sure valuable experiences.

Not to mention all the friends that I've made, they're precious. Friends are forever, keeping that in mind is already soothing when I look at my life ahead. They've helped me to learn the ways to deal with problems, the ways to interact and respond, and of course the ways to show love without pretending.

That's just priceless!

CCBL, from my point of view, will face a pivotal season next year

Looking at the possible committee members for next year, I'm relieved that it looks like CCBL is in good hands.

Definitely hope to hear more about the growth of CCBL next year.

It's already like a baby to me

I hope it'll be able to generate the atmosphere that we've been trying to create..

Friendly, enjoyable, non-hostile and for God..

Year of 2011's coming to an end soon

Hopefully my studies in uni too :)

Can tell I'm really nervous? haha

2011 has been a roller coaster ride for me

Despite all the let downs, I still see myself rising like never before

Thanks for the love from above, I'm protected and grown

Even this very moment while I'm typing this blog, I was told this news that my friend have this empty room for me in sg to move in! possibly!

That's just...amazing!

And I'm grateful that god just sent some friends into my life

To give me a whole new perspective of my life and they were able to help me answer a few questions in life that I always doubted

And most importantly, they showed me what I really want and cherish in life

Mum has been biting my back about girlfriend!

I guess she's getting nervous :p even more than I do!

But it's amusing seeing her asking about this and that

Despite all the uncertainties, I'm certain that god has this one person for me to meet, to be friend with, and to get together when the timing is right!

Sometimes I wonder...what's she doing right now? Is she someone I've already known? Keeps me optimistic!

I have faith!

2011's September is like a blink of eye

It's already October now, and not long away from my graduation

It went by so quickly that I didn't even have time to realise

Looking back now, it wasn't that bad after all

It's about 拿得起，放得下 and 耐心 this month

2nd half of 2011 hasn't been a good time for John's basketball

Ankle sprained & knee ligament tear, 4 times in 2 months I have to be lifted off the court and carried to the sideline

There're two pains involved here:

a)Physical pain caused by swelling of the injured site, which is not "pain"ful at all to me

b)Watching my team play and could only stand on the sideline, giving instructions but not helping them physically, that hurts

I hate to say it, but deep down inside, I felt that my injury cost us the season

Of course, no one would admit that, 'cause I'm not actually that good :P

I know we (Team CCM) cherish the time we had together more rather than actually winning the game, but a taste of victory would go well with the company I thought

But hey, we had fun together, we finished two seasons together with such great unity and atmosphere, which I thought no other team had done it better than us

I'm blessed to be in this team and this group of people

It's a team, a team that actually do life together other than playing basketball alongside each other

I'M BLESSED!!!

And yeap, it's official, an ACL tear. Meaning a surgery is underway...

And a whole lot of question marks to be solved in front

I was worried and I must admit that I still am...

About all the uncertainties and commitments, which I really can't control but to hope for the best and people's understanding

Job, I've got a job in SG as an intern pharmacist (hooray!!)

I hope this surgery won't affect it too much

I prayed that everything will turn out to be just OK when the time comes

And I tried and will still try to leave all my worries to the lord above

But of course, keep my mind sharp and prepared to grab hold of the opportunities whenever they surface

I know it's a little BIT out-dated

But 下一站，幸福 is AWESOME!!!

People would have the preconception of...

"Meh...another taiwan drama, another waste of time..."

BUT PLEASE DO NOT THINK OF THIS DRAMA THIS WAY!!! PLEASE!!!

I've learned a lot from this touching drama

And I admit that I shed a few tears throughout the whole 20 episodes

Because it's really that nice and really that touching!!!

From the characters in the drama, I learned a few important principles in life...

1. To live life to the fullest with no regrets, is to live life and treat life full-heartedly

2. There's always people who suffers more than you do, your problems are always smaller when you look carefully into others

3. Trust is love, then love is trust

4. There's always a space for a person to stand up against injustice and it is always good to lend a helping hand, it's simply a display of love

5. People change, not always negatively, but positively too. So please don't write people off based on what they have done previously.

I could go on and on......

Meaningful September, I hope I can carry these teachings for the rest of my life~ I will try!

Changes

Change is something that happens constantly in our life

The frequency, well, is then determined by how much we're letting it happen

It's common that...

As time goes by, people settled down

We get comfortable with the current situation...OR...

We struggle in the situation but what it takes to make a change is often deemed to be too hard

So...

It's perfectly fine to not change if everything's going well

But...

You wouldn't thought of changing if everything's really going well, right?

However...

We resist to change most of the time, as we're afraid that things will get worse, and we'll lose what we're holding tight now

I'm going through a life changing stage at this moment of my life

When everything in life seems to be uncertain, and it almost feels like somebody is controlling my fate and my future

But one voice in my head always remind me that He is actually in control

It's just so hard sometimes to believe in that voice yet it's 100% true

How to believe in something that you can't touch or see?

It takes a certain level of trust, to go the distance and start to believe

It's by having faith, it's by knowing good things will happen eventually

I guess this kinda attitude changes the way to do things unknowingly

And thus affect the outcomes of many little things indirectly too

All and all, it's that little first step...for a change...to make life works

There's this small stories behind this little invention

With Great Reward, Comes Great Sacrifice

At this stage of my very life

Kids Sunday School teacher Anuska just taught the kids and me a very important concept

"With Great Reward, Comes Great Sacrifice"

Although a simple phrase like that, probably means:

Sacrifice= Be obedient and quiet, listen to the teachers

Reward= Gummy Babies

To the kids...

To me, it means a little bit more~

I've always been a person who wants to get things done quickly, and somehow sometimes expected to see the result immediately

I embrace the "get things done quickly" spirit in a way that it keeps me awake

But this attitude can't be used in every situation

Sometimes, patience plays an important role

Sometimes, good things are worth waiting for

Sometimes, you just have to wait!

Patience, slow to anger, tolerance, keeping composure

They're all related, in a way that they test your ability to WAIT

With this knee injury

It comes together with a lesson of "Obedience and Patience"

Temptations are all over the place

The sound of bouncing basketball is enough to fire me up

The combo sight of ball+rim, you can imagine...

How I wished I can play~~~

I violated the "REST" rule...I have to wait longer now

God's teaching me a lesson I guess...

To WAIT, for every good things in life~

From old friend siewmay, I've learned the way to put this patience thing to use

She's a girl with tremendous patience and love for others

Putting others first, and ownself last

That's not easy and yet she demonstrated this to me everyday

If not with great ease, it's with great sacrifice

I've never thought that we would meet this way this time in Australia

Somehow, God brought her here, even at some point it was almost completely hopeless for her to come already

I'm grateful for a friend like this, a friend who understands

I'm glad I'm surrounded by friends who exchange hearts, who truly cares

What more can I ask for really? :)

Working life!!!

Once again, it has been a while since the last update!

I've caught up with BUSYness all this while

Working life is just a whole new degree of difficulty!

Yea, worse than Part time work + Uni!

9am till 5.30pm everyday

Meaning that you'll miss out the day life and stuck in your workplace

Luckily my colleagues are nice and they're willing to help whenever I'm in trouble, which I run into quite often :P

Never worked in a pharmacy is a huge disadvantage for me

Having to learn all the procedures and starting to apply theories into reality are not easy

Heard about all the things that go on in a pharmacy, but never seen them work in reality before has made me struggle at the beginning of each tasks

Plus! To work in such an extraordinarily busy pharmacy, has made all the things even harder!

Oh well~

On the bright side, a colleague told me:

"If you survive in this pharmacy, you'll survive anywhere!"

Exactly, let's start munching this humble pie and LEARN!

I'm sure no one will blame me if I make any mistakes :P

Not paid, but appreciated, is my motivation

The idea that "I've learnt one more thing today!" has kept me going strong

Of course, with a heart to learn and a learning attitude, it's easy to get help too

It's already the 3rd week into my placement, with 5 more weeks to go

I hope that when I finish this placement, I can look back and be satisfied~

Working fulltime has given me a whole lotsa new perspectives in life

Holidays: Just wanna stay indoor and relax and wake up late O.o

Groceries: Do it only once a week ONLY

Gym: This needs a whole lot of courage and dedication in order to be done, LOL

Basketball: Something to look forward to every week

Church: A must go place to just refresh my mind and to have a clearer view of my goals

Bed: Heaven on earth :)

Cooking & Baking: A rejuvenated hobby of mine!

Although we didn't get the gold, we managed to get the bronze

Being the youngest team of all, I'm proud of our achievements

Not only I'm proud of the results we've attained, but also the team spirit we've generated

We were praised to be the most disciplined team in the league

There's nothing more a leader could ask for, I'm happy to be in this team, and definitely look forward for another epic season!

We grow, we fail, we learn and then we win together! That's CCM!

Graduation is nearer and nearer now

It's all good :) I have faith!

Living below the line

Once again, it has been a while...

Not really sure if it's 4th year or I'm just having more and more commitments

Oh well, either way, I'm enjoying it, that's what really matters :)

Last week, I joined over 5000 people all over Australia to "Live below the line"

Limiting only $2 per day for food, for 5 days

YES! A total of $10 per week for all the things that you put into your stomach except plain water

At first when Jo mentioned it to us, I thought to myself...

"Hmm...I'm not gonna do this, why would I suffer? Can't I just donate the money?"

At that time, the thought of giving up foods was just too hard, looking back, I felt that I was a bit self-centered...

Why did I then accept the challenge???

Firstly, I guess it's because this might be my last and only chance

Secondly, I've got friends to do it together with

To be honest, the idea of "feeling how the starving people feel" did not cross my mind at that time

So, me, Isaac & Ryan decided to do it, $30 worth of foods for the 3 of us for that week

Thanks Melissa for coming up with a wholesome list of foods we should buy within the budget of $30

Careful planning really does matter, without it, I think we would have run out of food on the third of fourth day!

With $30, we had rice, chicken wings, bakchoy, mince meat & eggs

I was stunned when we finished our grocery shopping

There's actually nothing exciting about the foods that we cooked, lol

One thing worth mentioning, I've learnt many ways to grill a chicken wing!

Fried rice is the less filling dish of all

Porridge can help to save rice and still be filling

Experience wise, I've got lots of stuff to say and to remember :)

Hunger, it's very scary.........

Imagine, sticking to your daily routine, but minus the feasts

We all know that foods are the source of energy for our daily living

But I've never felt so tired and weak before because of food-deprivation

The idea of "I'm weak, let's forget about doing this...doing that..."

The temptation of giving up was just there all the time

The temptation of compromising my daily routine like going to the gym and work was there too

The temptation of grabbing a chocolate bar in the shelve was there!!!

Thank God, I've crushed the temptations again and again

My mind just kept telling me, if you compromise, you'll regret and you won't deserve to be called a fighter

Anything edible during that time just became so precious, even the remaining oils & seasonings stuck on the aluminium foil...

That's how desperate we were, at least Isaac & me, we literally just scrap the oil and nom away, screaming how awesome "the unhealthiest food of all time" are!

While we were doing that, we pitied ourselves...

What about people who really do live on less than $2 of food every single day of their life

A drop of soya sauce, a single crystal of salt...these are all foods to them!

5 days gone by pretty quickly

I broke my so called "fast" with an oreo cookies

That's the tastiest oreo I've tasted all my life~

The privilege to eat, is just too awesome

We cooked ourselves a feast, to celebrate the end of living below the line, and also to remind ourselves how lucky we really are

"Live below the line" has taught me a lot of things

Not just to realise how tough it is without adequate food

But also to learn how to be determined and not to compromise when situation becomes tougher. Instead, hang in there and push it through to witness the glory.

Hard earned victory is always more precious

It's indeed true...

Thank God to help me keep my composure when the time's tough, anything is possible through with his help :)

Let's cherish the chance to eat, and don't waste the foods!

Experience like Never Before

It has been a while since my last post over here

And not just my life, many changes have been done even in blogger itself (loving the new fonts by the way)

Life's been busy all this while......

Studies

4th year Pharmacy is indeed full on, not full on class, is full on studies

The idea of waiting for results to be released is never as confronting as before

Given that if you fail this or that, the chances of you enjoying another student year here is high :S

So...of course I wouldn't wanna be in the same class with Doreen, she who I've been calling as "Junior" for the past few years and all of a sudden we're sitting beside each other in a lecture, LOL

Therefore, to prevent those from happening, things should be done! Time should be dedicated!

Basketball

Being an organiser of City of Churches Basketball League alongside with Uncle Allen is definitely a rewarding and fun experience

And I'm loving it!

Writing summaries and game analysis after games is never boring knowing that you'll make a basketballer's day better

We love this sport and thus we dedicate our time for it!

Of course, it also requires the dedication of time and effort, but with all the support I get from supporters and friends, I'm doing it with happy heart :)

And Sunday, is always the day to look forward to each and every week in my life at the moment

Not to mention, as a player, I give up my time to train hard on the court with my fellow teammates

I must say this, I love my team, I love the atmosphere and spirit when we're together

Teamwork, is what we prioritise and defence, is what we talk about when we're preparing to face the next opponent

Being the youngest team in the league, we, CCM talk about defence instead of offence

This is why I'm proud of my team and this is also why we're the only unbeatable team half way thru' the season :P

Work

To be able to enjoy life without worries at all

Working is the way to go

Not just earning some extra pocket money, it also gives me the freedom and peace of mind to buy whatever I desire, given my financial situation

And not to mention, I've slowly gained some experience and confidence on the court and have developed my own way in dealing with conflicts with players

And yea, it's not just earning $12 in 40 minutes by running around blowing whistle

It's a life experience that I'm not gonna forget and probably not ever gonna experience much more in the rest of my life

My colleagues and supervisors are just great~ It's one of the few places that supervisors actually stand up for you against customers when bad things happen, awesome right?

Life

Busy with life, enjoying life, embracing life, no matter what happens in life...

Life serving in church has never been a dull one, never once!

Although it's always hard to get up early on a Sunday morning, although I've always thought about sleeping in...

But luckily the voice inside my head helped me kept my composure, telling me what's right and what's wrong

And it never fails me~ I think when God knows that you're sacrificing your own desire to honour him, he'll touch your life too :)

My life has always been bleesed

Everything that I desire, I get

And in every choices I make in life, I'm guided

Therefore, faith comes by easily in my life, as I simply believe there's something bigger and better in front

Although I do suffer loss once in a while and I do get upset, but by having faith, to forget and to forgive becomes easier

Terribly looking forward the next few months in my life

Across the whole tutorial room

When our UK lecturer disclosed the ugly facts of the perceptions of pharmacists by the society

How do doctors in South Australia think of pharmacist?

40+ out of 55 doctors thought pharmacists are not helpful at all, or helpful enough

Where did Pharmacist go in the list of skilled migrants to Australia?

While car painters, carpenter and engineers continue to be on the list

It's our lecturer from UK's concern as well

What have pharmacists done to deserve that?

Or rather, what we have not done?

Why we do not have the right to prescribe while in the end of the day, we are the one who know more about medicines use?

Why people think that the guy wearing a lab coat standing behind the counter in a pharmacy is a doctor and not a pharmacist? By saying, "How cool!! They have doctors in the pharmacy!!"

A healthcare TEAM, is what I have my vision on for the future

And a change, is definitely we have to bring about

"Why are you guys learning so many difficult stuff in your new pharmacy program?"

"Because we lecturers, as pharmacists, are trying to save this profession"

"It's hard for you guys, but it's what we have to do."

With just a pinch, you could kill several ants in a go

Life is that fragile

Have you ever seen a half-dead ant trying to crawl out of danger instead of stopping on the spot and give up?

Yes, I've seen, unless it's dead, it'll still crawl, until its very last breath

How are we any different with the ants?

Do we have much control over our own life? (Dead or Alive)

I doubt so...

We're just as fragile as the ants

We have very little control

Something which is way smaller than an ant, could kill us easily

And do we have clear choices to choose from?

No, we don't

Imagine that you're walking along the streets

Look at the faces of people walking past

What do you see?

What do you see inside of them?

I bet you can't see much, do you?

Until you get to know them, until they tell you the truth, you'll never know what's inside

Been exposed to this topic, HIV & AIDS for the past few days

And having people with HIV positive coming in to share

Is definitely an experience more than inspiring

Yes, HIV is something smaller than an ant, and yet it's something that could kill you

Are we vulnerable?

Very much so I guess

It's a human life that we're talking about, a life full of memories and love

Taking away any life is heart-breaking

And yet, there's only so much we could do, only to minimise our chances, and we couldn't do anything to avoid it, AT ALL

I looked at him, he looked at me, I nodded as if I was asking 'Are you ok?'

And bang, the next thing I know, he's back on the court again

I do think that kids take pain better than adults sometime

All they need is some motivation and a pat on the back

Why wouldn't we give it to them sometimes?

I've always thought that kids are the future of our world

No doubt, I love kids and I'm always happy to be around one

Just one simple number could actually mean a lot

23 is number that I come to love, besides number 8 which I love too

Basically number 23 came from my ultimate idol, Michael Jordan

23 just made me think of him, and could be inspired by it anytime anywhere

'Cause this number reminded me of hardwork, determination and motivation

Which are what Michael Jordan's life is all about

What will this year end up to be like?

Would love it to be wonderful and memorable of course

下雨天啦，又只好呆在家里头

一个星期一次的礼拜天作乱美乐篮球日就这样泡汤了

为了防止自己的肚子在还没有吃饱的时候就已经肿胀的情况恶化

还是乖乖上楼换好球鞋，踏上跑步机跑跑以下

当跑步机开始启动的时候，才突然发现自己已经好久没有跑步了

虽然都有在打球，在场上跑来跑去

但是单纯的跑步，倒是已经有4－5个月了

跑完步过后流汗的感觉，当然是只有一个字可以形容

爽！

也很惊奇的有个想法蹦了出来

想想。。。

小时候为了欢乐而运动

青年时为了朋友而运动

年轻时为了荣誉而运动

中年时为了减肥而运动

老年时为了健康而运动

当然，这并不是发生在每一个人的身上，但也属于大多数人对待运动的态度吧？

也有人为了赚钱而运动

有人却也为了运动而死亡

当然也有人为了运动而运动，就是那种单纯的爱运动

这样说起来，运动其实也算是一个人对自己的一个责任

其实不计酬劳的话，运动跟工作其实没有两样吧？

那么，世界上又有多少人能从事自己喜欢的行业呢？

就像是把时间花在运动上面，却又能够得到酬劳

那该多好？

有一句话，

选你所爱，爱你所选

顾名思义，就是有爱，才有快乐的意思

所以啊，大四将近，关于未来的问题不时就会从脑海里浮现

当然，就是要做自己想做的事情

但脑海里的梦想事业，并不是一朝一夕就能够实现的

也幸好自己会有这样的想法，以后才不会因为100％即将面对的挫折而放弃

所以呢，这些日子都有在到处看看，到处学学

特别是有机会到医院去的时候，就会特别留意部门的分类和集体的运作

因为自己以后也想开间类似医院却又不只是医院的HEALTH HUB

不容易，但一定会加油！

最近拿到一堆便宜的篮球，打算都带回去澳洲卖

来捞一笔～

发扬篮球运动，看到小孩对篮球那么有兴趣都会让我觉得好高兴

自己其实也对教导小孩打球非常有兴趣，希望以后有这样的一个机会

看到最近JB篮球Woohoo！搞的那么有声有色，新山篮坛开始有了希望

也为主办人感到开心！

剩下的假期时间屈指可数了

希望能好好休息享受做点有意义的事

才不会荒废这个‘最后’的假期！

今年回到这里只能meet到几位‘仅存’的朋友

但虽然数目没有以前那么多了，但是感情依旧！

Guess for this time, I really don't need to emphasise how much I love the year before

Well at least how I felt about it maybe

It's a new year, I'm with my old best friend and old best friends' voices

Guess I'm turning into the age which I count down with friends overseas over Skype using iPhone

Hey that's the first time I'm doing it and it didn't feel that bad afterall, at least with a buddy physically there beside me though

ZLZs in Brissie & Sydney, all the best!!!
And of course everyone that I truly cherish, you guys are awesome!

It's comforting to say that no matter how long we spent our time apart, when we talk, we talk like we've just seen each other the day before.

It has been a dynamic year for me

Felt like everything just happened yesterday

So many changes, so many new faces, so many grown-ups

If it weren't for the calendar, I wouldn't even know how little time has passed while so many events took place

Felt like everything is squeezed together

But hey when you add in some soda or just plain water, it's tasty and unforgettable

Guess that things just have to be concentrated if they come in huge volume :b

It was also a fruitful year

2 championships won, which doesn't happen often in my life

Many friendships made, which I truly appreciate

Passing 3rd year, guess this needs no explanation?

Time flies when you're having fun

Countless times that I've had this feeling

Of course, same goes to Bali~

Just a short 3 days stay over there, made me feel like going back there again in the future.

How should I start?

Detailed narration of the whole trip? Nah, too lazy and too meaningless for that

Decided to be stingy this time, and to be kind at the same time

What more can I say?

YOU'VE GOT TO GO TO BALI TO FEEL IT ALL, AT LEAST ONCE IN YOUR LIFETIME

Clear enough? Yes, I'm kind enough not to spoil the fun and speculations :b

Then what should I write?

Hmmm...

This trip basically featured 6 people:

Us 4 (Dad, mum, sis & me) + Tanti (Uncle Julius's daughter, our super tour guide) + Pak Nyoman (our super driver)

Tanti's doing her internship in Bali 'cause she's studying Tourism, hoping to be a tour guide someday

Pak Nyoman, an experienced tour guide himself too, a typical Bali natives, kind and faithful. And he speaks many languages!

Bali's a place overloaded with friendly people

They are ready to help anytime, anywhere, seriously anywhere (even in the middle of a traffic jam)

Unlike most part of Indonesia, it's main religion is Balinese Hinduism. And more than 90% of the residents here are Hindus. They worshipped a lot of things, mostly magnificent things like huge rocks, giant trees, metals, giant turtles and of course beautiful statues.

They are all faithful servants of their religion and thus the crime rate here is almost negligible, as they are fearful of their god.

And everything is built on the foundation of their religion

Buildings are not allowed to be taller than 4 or 5 storeys, which is not taller than the tallest coconut tree, because they believe that coconut tree symbolises the god of Sun.

They believe their faithfulness could prevent natural disasters from happening to Bali Island.

I believe it's because of these beautiful traditions and beliefs, Bali's a terrific place to get a peace of mind and to relax yourself fully, without any worries.

One beautiful thing about the people in Bali, despite all the foreigners and migrants from every other part of the world, they stick to their tradition and their fashion no matter how cool the trendy clothes are. It not only maintained the unique qualities of Bali, it also made Bali a place like no where else.

We didn't really get into a Bali-like resort this time during our stay there

But the location of our hotel is in the middle of Putar, kind of a central area of Bali island.

Which makes travelling and shopping a lot easier ^^

Phew~~~

This holiday just came in the very right moment of time

Right after a year of hard work (erm...maybe not hard enough :b)

Beautiful sceneries, the tranquility of temples, what's better for a place to close ur eyes and hear the sound of your heartbeat?

By having Tanti as our tour guide, we made it to many places which didn't have many tourists, sometimes none at all! How nice???

Not to mention it's a beautiful chance for us 4 to reunite and have fun together, to have the usual dramatic war and all

As holiday's shorter by 1 month this time, it feels more precious to me

Bearing in mind it might be my last long holiday before stepping into the workforce

It should be more cherished!!!

Hope that this would once again be an unforgettable one~

Growing up means letting go of something, to grab hold of something bigger

Stay optimistic, with all the supports I have, I step forward with all my heart

I'm here in Jakarta already

To me, felt like everything in 2010 happened in just a BLINK

Time just passes by quickly this year

Is it true that most people over 20 y.o would experience this?

Life just get a step ahead of us and we are constantly catching up with it?

Or we're just dragging life like a poor tyre?

Either way, my point is, there's no harm stopping for a while and enjoy your life!

And oooohh YeAh~

How many times I'm gonna say this?

I love my life and the people that I'm with now!

This might the reason why 2010 is speedy, good times just pass by quickly!

Rather to say that I'm stuck in Jakarta now before getting over to beautiful Bali

Why not say that I finally get to meet dad again, and enjoy the live family comedy unfold while being one of the 4 leading casts!

After a constant input of heat from the sunlight for more than half a day

Adelaide and also me are grilled (Can't imagine life in the next few days...)

With this kinda weather, it's not easy to get your study mood up, and luckily I didn't plan to do that

So...instead of sitting there all day refreshing fb (which I did for about an hour doing so today)

I decided to pack up my stuff for HOME! And also for moving house!

Which ends up successfully in this kinda weather -.-'''

And yea, realised that even after the previous pack up, I still got lotsa stuff to be packed up

4 years of life in AUS, no kiddin'!

Hmm yea, pretty much a sweaty process, with nice music, wasn't too bad after all

Just one week away from freedom, yes I can smell the vacation and the fresh air already

But still held back by the reality! (Exam...)

After lunch today with Boss KJ and Bday boy iSuk, I went straight home for the packing up

Realised that my life this week is gonna be pretty slow compared to last few weeks with CheeKheng messing around

I've always thought that I would study better alone but I was wrong all this while (Well, kinda...)

With my lappy occupied by someone to watch drama and connect to the world via fb

I could study pretty efficiently and without distraction AT ALL

Ironically, the temptation of world wide web > temptation to talk, with CheeKheng being around :b

Hey, that's a good thing, right???

Means we can get our priorities right and focus on what's on the top of the list first while we're together :)

To me, happy study time = happy chit-chat time later

Can't chit-chat and talk nonsense AS WELL when I'm under pressure

SO......

Without someone there to highjack my lappy away :(, I hope Determination could help me stay away from it!

The fact that this week's gonna be pretty slow is a 'thought so' thing already

Therefore, faith and trust are what we're gonna practise in such time

HOLIDAY!?! Bali!!!

Yes, BALI!!!

Don't really know what to expect from Bali besides B.E.A.U.tiful beaches and good foods

Of course, this will be the time baby 550D steps up and do its stuff

Expect great great photos ya! Like the sceneries and all...

And I bought a portrait lens for another reason...

To help dad and mum capture the moment~ realising that they haven't been taking photos together for quite a long while, this would be a great time to do so (Before wrinkles and grey hairs took over :b)

According to mum, dad used to be a photography fanatic, of course, with his old school SLR camera with 'filem' and no LCD screen

And he might be able to teach me some tips ^^ (although it's a digital world now :b)

Dad's a quick learner, that's not a problem~ (Yes, he's using a MacBook Pro too, hehe)

And mum, with all her “哎哟，浪费钱啦” talk, would always be beaten badly by HO's United (i.e. HO ChooLee, HO AikHui & HO EeWen)

Of course, she would always give in to our 'fans-like' move to electronics...cos...what to do??? $$$ already been paid, always, I mean, all the time, before her consent :b

And yea, 6 days away from freedom!

Being a person who loves to imagine (of course, optimistically)

I've never found myself stop my imagination throughout my life from now and then

And thus, there's a lot of "what if"sss in my head and often some far-fetched reasons to back them up

Hmmm, good or bad?

I guess sufficient is good.

Looking at graduation in about a year time

Things such as looking for a job, house, car popped up

And these things are often seen as 'hardship' as:

Job= Money= Car + Shelter +/- Happiness

The most determining part of this eqn. would be JOB

And the process of looking for this crucial part of the eqn. could potentially be very hard

And hence, no JOB= no Money= no Car + no Shelter + ~~Unhappiness~~= DOOMed

That's why people say that Graduation= Sacked

Wait a minute...

What if...

Within that 18 months of job searching, I find a job?

The eqn. would then be:

Job= Money= Car + Shelther + ~~Happiness~~ + lots more

What a perfect situation to be in!

How about we discuss the odds of getting a job?

Hmm, can't really tell...

Hard? Easy? Ok?

Well, I can't control all these but to work hard every single moment

The rest, leave it to god to decide and I'll keep having faith!

Ideal situation, stayed in Adelaide for a few more years, save up some $$$

Back in M'sia with bags of gold (exaggerating but that's how I want it to be, LOL)

Open up my own concept healthcare centre (hehe, I had this planned like long ago)

And become a C.E.O :b

HEY, money can't buy happiness! (to a certain degree, thus the crossed out "happiness" above)

And yea, I shall keep reminding myself, that without the ability to enjoy the happiness, money doesn't mean anything anymore

I must admit that I'm a materialistic person, born on 21st September (according to an personal analysis article, which is quite true)

I admire sophisticated tech gadgets, powerful cars and smart interior design of houses......

To fulfill this part of my happiness, I must earn lotsa $$ to do that

Not to mention that GOOD FOOD is already a must, without negotiation what-so-eva

So exited for the placement!!!

Hope to get a place in the city near where I live and hopefully in a hospital!!!

It's been a while since my last update

Busy??

Erm...nah, yea...well, sort of...

Alright, ya, was busy, thus no time for blogging

But felt a strong urge to note something down now

Although just 30 mins away from heading to work (last ref session of the year, and possibly in a while?)

4th year's coming up, meaning...LOOK FOR A PHARMACY JOB!

For a good chance to stay over here in Adelaide after graduating

Sis coming over to AUS, Adelaide's unlikely, Perth possibly the best chance

Well of course I hope she would come, but the option here is just not attractive enough

Perth! The city that I love, still, until now.

Trip to Perth once in a while is definitely tempting, so, why not for her to go Perth? :b

A: Hmmm, I felt that everything that happened this year to me have been miraculous. Since the start of 2010, I kinda felt the opening of my heart, in many ways. And of course, I must give the credit to the people that I've met, be it new friends or old buddies. Without y'all, I wouldn't have made it, to the happy me. Not like I wasn't happy at all before, but it's like, happYness to a higher level! You get what I mean?? Or maybe I should tell you more??

Ohya, it's still early to write up a summary for 2010. So, I shall keep it simple, for now.

I met amazing people this year!!! They opened my eyes, to realise that there's a bigger world out there with nice people around. They helped me regain my once very optimistic view of the future, not like I had forgotten how to dream back then, it's like they rejuvenate my thirst and desire to dream big again, without any restriction or worries. It's like, they set me FREE, somehow. Thank you people, you know who you are.

Not to mention my buddies, my all time favourites. The ZL gang. You guys stayed by my side once again, no matter what happened. Became quite interested in this topic recently

Was amazed by the symptoms that patients actually suffer from

1 in 100 people in this world experience this illness

Why wouldn't you know someone with this illness?

"Cause they often live in isolation and they are homeless, unsupported and helpless"

I couldn't imagine the feeling of having this illness but definitely realise the devastation it may bring

Human brain, the most complex organ in the body

It governs what you do, either voluntary (your movement) or involuntary (your guts motion)

And yet, it's still not fully understood

The movie "Butterfly Effect" kinda show the idea of it but not quite

Nevertheless, it's a nice movie that somehow gives us in-sight of how a mentally ill person lives his life

All of us undergo the emotions of depression, anxiety and more

How are these classified? I wonder...

Again, although drugs are useful in their own way, HAPPINESS is still unarguably the best medicine in the world.

Wouldn't it be cool if I can prescribe "Happiness" to patients that are suffering?

I wished that I have this ability~

Well at least, to bring joy and happiness to the people around me ^^

After a good night sleep, gym, great lunch and some studies...

Now is the time to revisit my memory and note down the beautiful moments!

Holiday just started a few days ago and now, I'm enjoying every moment of it

Something special this holiday is that I'm enjoying it in a way that I normally wouldn't do in the past

Live everyday to the fullest?

Certainly!

I'm starting to have a bit of self-consciousness

By saying so, I actually spent some good hours to study in the library for the past few days

Realising the fact that I lived normal uni weeks IDENTICAL to holidays

Given that I only need to spend very little time going to lectures and tutorials throughout the week

I decided this is the time to make a difference in my life, lol!!

Time to catch up some studies~

Magically, this felt so inspiring and I'm so motivated, rather unbelievable

I really must admit that I lived my usual uni life TOO RELAX

I'm so relieved that I finally realised that studying at home is no more a good solution

My bad, I just can't concentrate ENOUGH to study productively at home

Blessed enough, library is just about 10 mins walk away from home

Given that the weather has been better, there's no excuse to not take that 10 mins walk!

And yea, I love library! It just make you study~

That's the first FULLNESS of my holiday.

Church on Sunday!

Although I'm not a Christian, going to church and singing praise and worship songs are nothing new and rare to me

As most of my buddies are from church and basketball...

So, it's holiday and basketball would be on that evening

Why not spend the whole day together with my fellow teammates and get over to the court together?

The service session was like any other session, singing praise and worship songs and listening to the preaching of the pastors

I must say that I found it refreshing every time singing praise and worship songs, it gives me peaceful time to think about what I've done throughout the week and also make myself promises to become a better person, silently to myself while the music play along softly

I guess friends and this refreshing moments are the two things that made me keep coming back to CCM

After the service, we had lunch and started to chit chat, of course we talked about the game that was gonna happen last night

And then, adults went on to their classes respectively

That left me and PinYang, with a few hours of time to spare

Instead of sitting there and watch NBA videos

We decided to go play with a few kids, who have nothing to do and a few hours to spare as well

"How about, we play Hide n Seek??" said a cute girl Ally

Yea why not?

So, 6 of us, Ally, Sinead, Nicholas, Maria, PinYang and me

We played hide n seek, a game that I haven't played for years (maybe since high school)

The building was quite a big one, but spacious

Hiding wasn't an easy thing to do, especially for me, with the size and all -.-'''

We divided ourselves into two teams

Me, Maria and Sinead

PinYang, Ally and Nicholas

Maria and Sinead are just two super cute girls, 4 years old little girls

As you can imagine, very active and adorable!

I love kids but hardly have time to spend together with them

And yesterday, the amount of stuff that 4 years old girls know about just stunned me!

So clever, yet innocent

That's what make them so loveable and cute

They like to look you in the eye and seek for your attention all the time

One thing that makes them cuter is that they are so obedient and they listen to what adults say...

"No hiding in the kitchen and toilet"

"No playing with the lift"

There was once we hided in the lift, and when we were getting out of the lift

They asked me to go out first from the lift because...

"We will get scolded if we play with the lift..."

LOL!!!

The way they said it totally melted my heart......or I'm just too easy to be melted??! haha!!

And your praises would make them so so so happy that you couldn't imagine

The hide n seek game was so fun as we found so many places to hide, even in a rather spacious building

I think we spent almost an hour and a half playing the same game, changing sides when one team got caught, and we never got bored, that's the amazing part!

The story doesn't just stop here...there's more later...

Ever wonder why girls tend to think more than boys?

They started young!!!

Once again, they ask question that could melt your heart easily

And draw your sympathy straight away

There's this little girl who wonders why her mother is not with her always

Looking into her eyes, I felt the need of the love from a mum by a little girl

And she's confused, while I'm not sure as well

What can I do???

But to console her and tell her some random 'nice' reasons why

Deep inside her eyes, I can see her confusion, still, after nodding her head repeatedly

Poor thing...can do nothing but just to bring some momentarily happiness for her

And of course, the match that night, as awesome as ever!

We all played well, we cheered out loud, we hustled~

HCFA!!!

Starcraft 2!!!

Using a nearly 3 years old laptop, I was quite stunned that it can still perform at high resolution and in high detail level for this kinda hardcore game

I'm impressed with my baby laptop! Let's do your best to stay alive! LOL~

Of course, there's no need to say anything about Starcraft 2, it's simply amazing!

Although I just played the single player version of it...

While I was playing the game, I thought about my long lost friend...PS3!!!

This year, I rarely touch my PS3...

Life's getting busier? Hmm, maybe...

I would only play PS3 games when friends come by

Especially FIFA 10 and NBA 2K10, but not those single player games like Resident Evil 5 (my latest collection but I've got no time to explore it!!! ARGHHH!!!)

Well, after about an hour of gaming...

终于到了现在，给我看到这部电影了！

一直听妹妹讲很好看，可是就是找不到

突然前几天又想起来，爽爽去找找看，结果给我找到！

一dl到，就迫不及待在大白天马上开来看

尽管没有什么时间，只是一个午餐时间

也硬硬要开来看

结果还一开就看了二十分钟。。。

看到电影里面大家熟悉的malaysia对话方式和语气

就有了份熟悉的感觉

打baguli，在kampung骑脚车玩到一身泥回家

又会想起小时候的回忆，特别是在batu的时候

庆幸自己也过有在kampung长大的经验，可以玩到一身泥，哈哈！

傻傻的botak，凶凶的打架鱼

当然少不了搞笑功力一流的kelefei角色！

整部戏并不是我想象中的搞笑电影

肯定没有“大日子woohoo”搞笑

但是，感动度肯定没有输给它

就有点抗拒的感觉～

在mars吹球，只有一个字形容

“累”

身体累还好，心理累才惨

纯粹作乱不好好打球的占－20％

遇到好人，谁也开心

这一切，如果有另外一位志同道合的裁判一起控制场面的话

其实也还好的。。。

总结一个下午

三场球

一场开心（会打的球员，他们只顾打球，其他的都很明白不在自己的控制范围之内）

两场沮丧（赢球时打球，输球时打架，不然就开始对其他人发脾气）

知道自己已经不是第一次在这里投诉了

但是今天这次，这个时候，显得特别无奈

和前一晚打球得来的满足感，简直差天差地

面对自己不会的事情，一定要虚心向学才会进步

承认自己做得不够好，才会有这样的麻烦

但是，不是什么事都能由自己控制的

有些事真的只能无言以对

有些时候，说好话会比沉默伤人

我不喜欢疙瘩，我喜欢坦荡荡

但又有几位能做到“主动选择性失意”呢？

不是逃避，只是没必要追究......

It could be gloomy; it could be bright

It could be sad or it could also be happy

Could we ever predict it with 100% confidence?

Sometimes, yea......but mostly the answer would be a NO

The way we think affects our anticipation towards the future

While the way we think is also affected by our mood and personalities...

Therefore, we predict the future according to what our unconscious mind projected

It's unconscious mind, it might not be what we want

Facing uncertainties...

We feared, we trembled, and sometimes so sadly, we failed even before we get to the future...

Limited by what we presumed to be "the future"

Does it ever happen to you?

When you're sad, disappointed or helpless...the world tends to be so dark and you start to worry about the future, which is often unnecessary

When you're happy, satisfied or relaxed...the sunshine is just everywhere and you would anticipate your future, with a joyful heart

It could be opposite as well, when you're at the top of the world, you might start to worry about what's going to happen next, "Something bad?" "Most probably yes..."

Then how would you handle these situation?

Would you try to cheer yourself up and always think optimistically? (That's what I do, mostly)

Or would you cry it out and hoping that the fears would evaporates with the tears?

Or would you just believe in your prophecy so much that you steer your life towards it?

People handles life differently, but hey, we will get through someway, somehow, right?

Good or bad, who knows?

It has already happened, and the "otherwise" have not, how do we compare if there's nothing to compare with?

Crude, but straight to the point, we say "suck it up and get it over and done with!"

Walking, is normally the time when I think

I met so many people yesterday, people with different stories

Who knows what they've been through?

Only when you start to know them, then you start to hear the stories

And often, life's ain't that tough after all, right?

The thinking while walking and also while watching a movie often kept me thinking...

Made me look at things from a different perspective

Seems like people get to their mid 20s quite quickly and unknowingly, and before you know it, you're there already, looking at the exhausted life chasing you at your back, frantically...dying to remind you what life is all about...

I would start to worry sometimes, but also can't help looking forward to it...

Quite happily, it reminded me of my age

Quite sadly as well, it reminded me how fast time has passed too

So......

How do we balance that?

I guess, we do it by stop worrying too much and get your head in the "game"

"Game" implies Life, in present tense...ING

Living your life in the moment is the way to live your life to the fullest, hmm...

I must admit that I do stupid things sometimes that I will regret later

But hey...at least I regret it...instead of still sticking my head inside the mess

You, you and you, that's the reason why I have you in my life

To remind me of reality of life and how not to be obsessive at the right time

My friends and family~

I do fail, I'm not the perfect guy

I do handle some stuff poorly, sometimes muscles aren't the only strong thing you need to have

I do get frustrated, I'm not the Mr. Nice Guy

Maybe you've never seen them, but they do happen...

However, I'm trying to the best me, all the time.

Future...

We have no way of knowing what lays ahead for us in the future

All we can do is to use the information on hand to make the best possible decision

Uni has started already for a few days (in fact, it's already Thursday now)

Started to get back to work and see some familiar faces again

Everything seems to get back online now for me in Adelaide

But somehow, I thought...erm..."not quite" yet...

Uni hasn't really started for me, since I can't feel the intensity yet

It should be an easy semester to me, three subjects, one lesser than most of my fellow classmates

Which means more time to me, which also means that I should do better this semester

I must make sure I get thru' everything to enjoy a stress-free summer holiday in less than 4 months time

I can feel the pressure somehow, I mean, who would want to spend that totally avoidable expenses and time to come all the way back to Adelaide for a stupid mistake (supplementary exam)

Definitely not me, and I should make sure that won't happen to me

For your information, something like that will be a potential holiday wrecker

It would blow up all my plans...so...there's the pressure, I hope it's a good one though

Coming back from holiday, in my first Pharmacotherapeutics Theory lecture...

Dr. Ward talked about stroke, I felt quite comfortable listening to the topic

Maybe it's the refreshing holiday that I had, plus hard work from last semester

It kinda feels easier (it better be)

Yes, I told myself "It's not bad for a start, let's keep it up!"

So...let's see, for a perfect holiday, for a brighter future, I fight!

My referee life~

Going back to the familiar place, seeing familiar faces has never been better

Especially the welcoming faces from my boss Rodney and Stuart, and of course my fellow referees

That gave me the confidence to do it all again on the court

Of course, it's about earning $$$, but also trying to "enjoy" the moment

It's definitely rewarding experience if all the players are behaving themselves...

BUT!!! It rarely happens, and that grey shirt than I'm wearing...

It's kinda saying "Please hate me!!!" to the angry players

Well, that's life and reality, it's a natural hate to the person with the whistle most of the time

Sometimes, I have the thought of "Why should I receive all the crap from those ~~disrespectful, old and oily~~ guys???"

And I thought twice "Hey, that's typical working life, that's how you could grow stronger, from all those crappy moments the customers give you..."

Well at least, not many people can give their customer a TECHNICAL FOUL if they are being rude and disrespectful, at least I still have the privilege to abuse my customer. Yea?

Sometimes when the match gets too boring (most of the time)...

I could day dream while still focusing on the game (amazing right? I agree.)

I tell myself......

"It actually depends on how you look at the rude comments...they are older than you, but look at the way they play, are they any better than yourself?? Where are the manners?? Aren't they old enough to be able to respect people?? Why would I still worry about what they think of me??"

"And look at what they're doing, cutting corners, trying to hurt other people just to vent their anger and pressure (perhaps from their own working life) and feel sorry afterwards."

This is the reality I see every night in refereeing, and it's a good learning time, telling myself not to behave like some of them

From them, I see pressure in life, I see the impact of age in life, I see all sorts of things...

But hey...

What's even valuable, are the good things I learn from them...in contrast to their behaviour...

I learn to be more tolerant, to be more mindful for others, to care about others' feeling, to be aware that there are always people better than me, to be humble and ready to accept failure all the time

I might not have the chance to work in this environment in the future

Experience, it's a learning lesson that I will remember for life.

And surely, saving up money for my goal has never felt better

I've reached my first target, and now moving on to the second

钱难赚, it's true, that is why it's so rewarding when you reach you target finally

Basketball, I need to feel the motivation

I've never played basketball properly since I got back from holiday

And the worst thing is that I could not feel the thirst to play!!!!!!

I was worried...

But no more now!!!

The flash back of my bball life in high school days while chatting with AhWen last night and Allen's msg asking if I'm ready to guard the best player in the upcoming game kinda lifted me up again

I'm ready to go again, I hope! (will see it tonight!)

And the drive to average of 15 points per game (currently 11), make my first chase down block, make a successful dunk and more than 10 rebounds are BACK!

And I truly hope that it will become clearer this Sunday...so that I could see thru' the fog soon!

Friends~ You guys have been great I must say

Although what I hear are nonsenses most of the time

But the company kept me wide awake

There's nothing unsaid between us, and we say it thru' heart, not vocal

How could I still ask for more than that?

I'm happy and I'm content

Anything else should be a bonus to me~

Every trip is a trip that draws hearts nearer, even with the people that were actually not with us during the trip, that's why I love travelling so much, it's just fantastic!^^

LOL~ I've just realised that I've typed so long...

Boring Thursday afternoon...except a little climax when the handyman came

We had some fun in the bathroom, saying how crappy the shower door is

This old guy is funny and straightforward~ In fact, we had lotsa fun IN THE BATHROOM

The funniest part is when he was trapped in the shower by the stupid shower door!! LOL!!!!!!

I just kept laughing and laughing~~~

Well, guess it's a not bad afternoon eii? XP
